Summer or winter, the only problem at Pinewoods Resort is deciding what to do as there is simply no shortage of relaxing, enjoyable and challenging activities -- regardless of one's age or interests. With attractions such as Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Brian Head Ski Resort, and much more nearby, there really is always something exciting to do!

Summer Playground

Whether it's a relaxing walk on the cool and cushioned earth among fragrant pines and glittering aspen trees, dropping a line into a clear mountain stream, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends on our shady patios, all summer long Pinewoods Resort is a delightful experience for young or old alike.

    Summer biking
  • Rent ATV's, mountain bikes, or horses to explore hundreds of miles of forest trails and old logging roads or one of many nearby scenic destination sites.
  • Boating and fishing are just up the road at beautiful Navajo Lake or stop to fish on the way at scenic Duck Creek pond or stream.
  • In addition to the ATV's, mountain bikes and horseback riding, there are a variety of games for children and adults in the recreation area of Pinewoods including volleyball, badminton and basketball court, horseshoe pits and an archery range or you can accept the challenge of a paintball game among the pines while the kids swing or slide in their play area. Inside our recreation room, you can all play table tennis, pool, foosball, pinball games and more.
  • Use one of our shady picnic areas for a family barbeque, or gather your group together around our spacious fire pit for a roast or a sing along.
  • Fishing on Navajo Lake
  • Stay with us during a hunting trip-the spectacular forests and hills surrounding Pinewoods offers some of the best hunting in Utah!
  • If golf or tennis is your game, don't forget your clubs or racquet because Summer or winter, some of the finest golf courses and tennis complexes in the desert southwest are just not that far away.
  • How about a river trip? The mighty Colorado River is just two hours away where it gushes from the bottom of Glen Canyon Dam and begins its amazing journey through the Grand Canyon and you can see the Canyon looking from the bottom up.

Winter Wonderland

Snowmobiling at Pinewoods Resort During winter, the high, sprawling Cedar Mountain [officially known as the Markequent Plateau] that surrounds Pinewoods Resort offers some of the most reliable snow conditions in the Southwest, yet with no danger of avalanches. You can explore the diverse terrain and scenic beauty to your hearts content on snowmobiles, cross country skis or snowshoes.

  • Rent snowmobiles, cross country skis, or snowshoes at our Blue Pine Tours facility. You can even rent full winter snow suit if needed. Cross Country SkiingYou will need to bring your own boots and gloves and we'll feed and house you while you just have fun
  • Tour over 200 miles of groomed trails winding through the forest glades, across pristine meadows and past lava-covered hills, play in the numerous wide-open meadows that dot the plateau or journey to one of the many spectacular vistas and destination sites on Cedar Mountain.
  • Enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding, just 30 minutes away at Brian Head Ski Resort.
  • Ski or go tubing on the bunny hills at Pinewoods.

Outward-Bound Adventure

In any season, Pinewoods incredible proximity to scenic, recreational and historical attractions makes it a remarkably convenient and comfortable base for a multitude of wider explorations around Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and Southern Nevada. A host of diverse and spectacular adventures lie within an hour or two of Pinewoods Resort from breathtaking vistas of numerous national parks and monument to diverse recreational areas and historical sites, from skiing and snowboarding to world-class theater and nightlife.

  • Within a 30 minute drive on the plateau you'll find Cedar Breaks National Monument, Strawberry Point, Brian Head Ski Resort, Cascade Falls, Navajo Lake, Cedar Mountain Lava Fields and Caves, and many other scenic destinations.
  • Within a one hour drive: Bryce and Zion National Parks, Pipe Springs and Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monuments plus several State Parks and Indian artifact sites. During the summer, a 35 minute drive takes you to the Tony Award-winning Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City.
  • Within a two hour drive: Grand Canyon and Capital Reef National Park, the vast and beautiful Lake Powell, as well as a multitude of fascinating sites along the way including the Petrified Forest, Calf Creek Falls, several ghost towns and the fascinating Anasazi Indian Village. Enjoy a game of golf or tennis in picturesque St. George or if your ready for a real adventure, take a river trip down the Colorado River or try your luck at the gambling tables in Mesquite, Nevada.
