Performances vary from classic Shakespeare to modern playwrights, with free greenshows, backstage tours, workshops, and the Royale Feast to entertain as well. The Utah Shakespearean Festival's season runs from mid-June to the end of August, with an additional fall season from mid-September to mid-October. Tickets are available up to one year in advance. For more specifics and up to date information, visit www.bard.org Don't miss out on the historic downtown shopping plaza, where you can stroll from store to store inside, or windowshop from the sidewalk. Restaurants, craft stores, book stores, an ice cream/drug store, and many more line main street for two city blocks. The town also has several amenities not available on the mountain, including laundromats/dry cleaners, mechanics and auto parts stores, three movie theaters, a Wal-Mart and three large grocery stores. The local hospital is Valley View Medical Center, and has 24-hour physician-staffed emergency care. A good route to Pinewoods Resort is through Cedar City. The Cedar City Municipal Airport is Utah's second largest, with flights from Cedar to Salt Lake City three times a day on Delta's SkyWest; rental cars and shuttles can be booked in the terminal. The closest international airport is in Las Vegas, Nevada, where you can connect to Interstate Hwy 15 and take a scenic three-hour drive up to Cedar City. Shuttles are available that regularly make the trip, and there's also a Greyhound bus stop in town. |
